Things pre-date tumblr

I find it weird how people think so much non-cishet stuff is such a tumblr thing. I mean, I’ve learnt a lot from tumblr, but my complex identity is mostly from stuff I’ve figured out myself. From looking on wikis, from reading various sources, I’ve rarely found out anything about myself from sources on tumblr. Except that pangender is offensive, which is a term I identified with for awhile before I concluded I’m just genderqueer. I’m pretty sure I was certain I’m mga in 2005, I specificly remember identifying as bisexual at that age. And in maybe 2012, after reading it on wikipedia (along with a few other sources), I was sure I was pansexual back then.

Back in 2011 and 2012, I went on a facebook group for LGBT+ people, and I talked to a trans person which I found there, and I realised I was trans myself. Looking back, I realised I’ve never really had much of a sense of gender. And in 2013 I was sure I’m trans, however I did not fully settle with pronouns or names before 2014, though before I did have a pseudonym that was specificly neutral (imo). But I had known a few other trans and non-binary people back then.

I think I signed up to tumblr in 2012. But didn’t use it before far into 2013. So, the whole idea of it being a tumblr thing is inherently flawed and absurd. Because there has been already decades of these communities. And using myself as an example, my identity also pre-dates tumblr, alongside having known people who are non-binary, pansexual and LGBT+ in general long before joining tumblr. But, let's just question this whole thing. Does it matter if a term was invented on tumblr? Since when did we dedicate coinage to specific sources? I think it is absurd to discredit a term just because someone on a website coined it, especially put into consideration we all have lives outside of tumblr, and we constantly do exist with our identities day to day.
